TLDR: Really cool atmosphere, very good food and service. Would come back. This is a really cool place for a date night or special intimate dinner. It's very small which didn't lend a lot of privacy but it has a great atmosphere. The service was very good although the food wasn't paced well and we felt kind of rushed. For drinks I got the white negroni and we split a bottle of wine. Both good. For food we ordered the burrata (imported from Italy twice a week) which came with focaccia, the spicy vodka rigatoni, and the lasagna. The burrata was incredible and so was the lasagna. The rigatoni was good but not as crazy as it's hyped up to be. The flavors weren't as deep as I expected. We ended with the almond gelato (half eaten in the picture) which was crazy good. In sum, it gets a solid 4. It was a great dinner and I would recommend and go back.

Incredible experience! I lived in Chicago from 2013-2020 and I have always loved the HogSalt group! All of their establishments are top notch and I expected no less from Ciccio Mio. It was hard to get a reservation for 7-7:30 on a Tuesday even though I booked well over a month in advance! However, I emailed them and was at least able to get my reservation 30 minutes earlier than what I found online. I really appreciated that they were responsive. We arrived early and when we checked in, our table was not quite ready so we went next door to Gilt Bar for a drink. We only had to wait 10 minutes and our table was ready...on time. The parlor lounge is lovely and once you are shown to the dining area, the ambiance continues. I then understood why it is so hard to get a reservation.....the restaurant is small with about 10-15 tables. Our waitress Christine was impeccable. She greeted us shortly after we were seated, explained the menu, offered suggestions, spaced our meal out and never let our champagne glasses get empty. We started with the premium burrata and it was so delicious we had to order a second helping of bread. We were torn between the burrata and focaccia, but Christine told us that the burrata is flown in fresh from Italy and it was a no brainer. We also split the caesar salad, gnocchi and vodka rigatoni and the toasted almond ice cream. All of the dishes were amazing. It seemed as if the ice cream was the winner for most tables. It is a tall swirl covered with crumbled almonds and once you eat the outside, what's left is just vanilla ice cream, however, it is some of the creamies, freshest vanilla ice cream you will ever have. It would be nice if the crumbles were mixed in so that each bite contained almond crumbles. You must go to the bathroom. On your way to the back, you will see a two top table right in front of the bar and the bartender explained that that seat is reserved only for the owner! It is super cute! Also, next to the restroom is a very chic sitting area. Although they add on a 3.25% surcharge, the service and meal were worth an additional 20% tip instead of an overall total of 20%.

Food: amazing taste, reasonable price for the location and considering it's an upscale restaurant. The focaccia is enough to feed 3, such a good texture. The gelato is to die for! They have a miniature version which is the one shown in pics Ambience: lowly lit, ambience feels like la belle epoque, very cool. Service: very attentive waiters. Offering good suggestion. It's really hard to get reservations here

Everything from the moment we walked in was perfect! The staff up front greeted and let us sit inside until our table was ready. They also let us order a drink while we waited. Beautiful ambiance and the food was superb. The host and waitress were so friendly and kind! My favorite Italian restaurant by far!

Ciccio mio in english translates to "My Fat" which might be how you feel ordering two entrees and a dessert like me. But believe me, there's so many amazing options on the menu it's hard to just choose one. I recommend staying a mile away so you can walk some of it off afterwards. Up until this year, I never liked lasagna. Maybe it's because I grew up on stouffer's or maybe it's because I didn't grow up Italian. Rather, I sort of evolved into being Italian. Regardless, the lasagna bolognese at ciccio mio warmed my heart. So what if it was 85 degrees and I was sweating eating it, I was happy and that's all that matters. Up until this point, I had never had pavlova. After eating it at ciccio mio, I have decided to name my next dog or second daughter's middle name "Pavlova". My plan was to have one bite and go home. But one bite turned into eating the whole plate, oops!

We had an amazing experience here! The service was top-notch--our waiter was incredibly attentive and offered great suggestions throughout the night. We started with the burrata, and it was phenomenal--so creamy, and the bread it came with was warm, perfectly crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. For the main course, we got the spicy vodka rigatoni and the black truffle bucatini. Both pastas were delicious! The rigatoni had a great flavor, but I personally would have liked it to be a bit spicier. The black truffle bucatini, on the other hand, was so rich, and you could really taste the truffle, which was amazing. Since the pastas didn't have any protein, we also ordered the giant prawn scampi. The shrimp were incredibly fresh, and the dish had a subtle citrusy note that I absolutely loved. It was a nice, lighter option to balance out the richness of the pastas. Portions here are generous--we couldn't even finish everything! To top it all off, we had the tiramisu for dessert. It was light, not overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend!

Part of the Hogsalt restaurant group trio on Kinzie, Ciccio Mio lives up to the name and tagline of "a nice Italian restaurant" with flying colors. The moment you walk in, you can tell by the well thought out decor and friendly staff that this is going to be an exquisite dining experience. I thought their take on the spicy vodka rigatoni was a bit on the sour side not too much of a spicy kick but the flavor boast of high quality ingredients and well made al dente pasta. The lasagna is a showstopper for sure. I've never had a version of lasagna like this before but the flavors and textures somewhat reminded me of a mixture between a deep dish pizza and spaghetti bolognese. The gelato was what stole the show for the night. It made me think of the gelato shops in Europe. The almond sprinkled perfectly into dessert and the texture of the gelato perfectly creamy and flavorful. I would highly recommend getting this to cap off the meal. Ciccio Mio is a Chicago crowd favorite for a good reason and prone to please out of towners or locals on any given night. It boasts a diverse menu while giving itself character and standing out from its competitors with their own unique takes on popular Italian dishes. For certain patrons, this may be the best pasta in the city but for others who prefer popular dishes done another way, Ciccio Mio will still garner the respect it deserves. Expect to pay downtown prices for a mid to high end establishment.

Ciccio Mio is a charming Italian restaurant that offers a cozy, low-lit setting perfect for a date night. Situated right next to Gilt Bar, it exudes a classy and elegant ambiance that feels warm and inviting. The space is small, featuring a dining room with a limited number of tables and red couches, which adds to its intimate and cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend reserving a table in advance, as this spot can fill up quickly. During my visit, I tried the spicy vodka rigatoni and black truffle bucatini which were delicious and had an authentic Italian flavor. The portion sizes were generous, and pairing the dishes with wine made the meal even more enjoyable. We ended our night with a pavlova. Overall, Ciccio Mio is an aesthetic gem, offering a delightful dining experience that's perfect for special occasions or a romantic night out. I highly recommend this place.

We wanted to try a fancy restaurant since we are from out of town and the ambience in this place is at 10 out of 10. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a nice date night reservations to go very quickly so just be sure to set an alarm to schedule a reservation as soon as the date opens we were able to get a very nice table inside. Our server was extremely professional and hospitable. He answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. We had the braised beef, short ribs with polenta, and I have to say that it is some of the best beef I've ever tried. We also had the lasagna which was delicious. People were wearing a mix of attire. Some people came in jeans and tennis shoes others were dressed up a little bit more so I would say dressy casual would probably be your best option.
